WELLAND ARENAS

Welland Community Wellness Complex and Welland Arenas are closed.
These temporary public health measures will be in effect for at least 21 days. The City will provide updates to the reopening of facilities and programs as information becomes available. WCWC staff will contact members of the WCWC with options available for the next available session. Memberships will be on hold, and their expiration dates extended. Programs, activities, and services will be restored as soon as the province lifts the restrictions.

Public Skating

Save on regular public skating rates by purchasing a public skate punch card valid for 10 skates.

Fees Single Admission Punch Card
 Children under age 14 $2.75 $15
 Adult $3.75 $25

 

Admission Standards

  • Children 12 years of age and under must wear a CSA-approved helmet. A face cage is recommended.
  • Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied to the skate by a responsible person 16 yrs or older who must maintain visual contact throughout the skate.
  • Bicycle helmets are not permitted.
  • Adults are encouraged (but not required) to wear a CSA approved helmet
  • Individuals with serious medical conditions should be accompanied by another individual knowledgeable about their condition(s) and responsible for their direct supervision.
  • The City does not provide skates, skate rentals or skate aids. Only approved skate aids are permitted.

  • Saturday Public Skating 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday Public Skating 2:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • PA Day Skates 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. (Free for children 14 and under)
  • National Child Day Free Skate 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Free for children 14 and under)
  • Holiday Free Skate 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • New Years' Eve Skate 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. (Free for everyone)
  • Family Day Free Skate 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Free with a donation of a non-perishable food item) **Main Arena
  • March Break Skate 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Free for everyone) **Main Arena

Skate for fun and exercise. Meet your friends each week at the Welland Main Arena. Helmets are required for safety reasons. Purchase a punch card at the Wellness Complex service counter to participate.

Single Admission: Resident $3.50/Non-resident $4.00
Punch Card 20 Visits: Resident $50.85/Non-resident $56.50

Shinny Hockey – 50 Plus

Must have CSA-approved equipment. A punch card is required to access this program and can be purchased at the Wellness Complex service counter.

Looking for a place to skate outdoors this winter? We have several locations where families can enjoy skating outdoors (Ice surfaces are weather permitting):

Rinks maintained by city staff

* No Volunteers – Rinks without volunteers may not be maintained and most likely will not be suitable for skating. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for one of the below rinks, please contact: pw@welland.ca or call 905-735-1700 Ext. 3000
